On June 11 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings by voting passing the draft laws considered in the previous sitting.

The deputies by voting approved the annual report “On the RA State Budget Execution for 2014.”

By the proposal of the President of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan the deputies welcomed the participants of the Women’s Entrepreneurship International Forum “Perspectives of New Developments” who visited the parliament within the framework of the NA “Open Doors” programme and were observing the NA sitting.

The NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan also informed that on June 15 at the initiative of the RA Government the RA NA Extraordinary Session will be held.

Afterwards the deputies continued considering the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on the Social Security of Servicemen and Their Family Members.”

In his co-report the Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

In their speeches the deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Gagik Jhangiryan, Heghine Bisharyan, Margarit Yesayan, Artsvik Minasyan, Arpine Hovhannisyan, Koryun Nahapetyan have positively assessed the legislative initiative, noting that though there are concerning provisions in the bill, the problems are solved step by step.

In the extraordinary speech the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has noted that the draft law once again shows that the issues of security and defense are very important for both the authorities and the opposition.

In his final speech the key speaker Edmon Marukyan touched upon the deputies’ voiced questions and proposals, expressed readiness to debate and revise the draft law.

The parliament in the first reading began considering the draft law “On the Investment Program for Processing Industrial Dumps Accumulated and Accumulating in Voghji, Pkhrut, Artsvanik Tailing Dumps, as well as Generated and Generating as a Result of the Activity of Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine CJSC,” which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan.

Garegin Nushikyan introduced the view of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, proposing his colleagues to show positive approach on the draft law.

The NA deputies Armen Karapetyan, Stepan Margaryan, Naira Zohrabyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Tevan Poghosyan, Heghine Bisharyan expresssed their views on the issue.

The debate of the issue will resume during the NA next sittings.

The seventh session of the NA fifth convocation ended its work under the sounds of the RA anthem.
